Live Web Demo: Direct PC Sales

You can run the Direct PC Sales application as an AJAX based example running on an IIS/Windows 2000 web server (click the 'AJAX deployment' image to run the demo).

The Direct PC Sales demo allows the user to configure their own PC or have the application recommend a suitable PC. The demo involves two knowledge modules, one called 'PC Recommendation' and one called 'PC Configuration'.

The knowledge behind the recommendation is represented in decision trees and cases as shown in the following screen shots from the development environment of XpertRule Knowledge Builder.

The knowledge behind the configuration is represented in constraint trees and hierarchies as shown in the following screen shots from the development environment of XpertRule Knowledge Builder. Constraints force a user to make only valid combinations of selections (invalid options are shown in red), and hierarchies represent the general structure of the product which at runtime results in a specific bill of materials.
